Us by Design

Design philosophy, values, and tone.I believe design is part of the material conditions that shape who we are. Objects and environments are never neutral; they influence how we live, behave, and connect, often more than we realise. My approach is grounded in dialectical materialism: our identities and values emerge not from abstract ideals but from the material reality we engage with daily. A chair, a handle, or the layout of a space all leave traces in our routines and relationships. That is why I seek design that is human, critical, honest, aware, and reflective. Not guided by fashion or gestures but by the realities of life. For me, designing furniture and everyday objects is also designing the conditions that, in turn, shape us.

Core values

Design is a consequence: Every piece responds to real conditions: a brief, a material, a constraint.
Design has consequences: Every object changes how we live, behave, and connect.
The user is not passive: People adapt, shape, and evolve with the objects they use.
Every decision matters: No part of the process is “just a detail.”
Think with your hands: True design thinking happens through making, testing, and iteration.
Tone of voice
Human: I don't hide behind brand-speak. My is personal, with honesty, doubt, and a point.
Critical: I question and pause. The tone isn’t combative; I stay sharp.
Honest: No exaggeration, no show. I admit when things are in progress or when I don’t know yet.
Awareness: I stay connected to the real world, aware of the weight of every decision and word.
Reflective: I write thoughtfully. If something’s unclear, I simplify it. And when there’s nothing more to say, I leave space.
